Learn to Dive!

My Home: JSS Divng pool in Japan

Im going to write how to dive with conjunctions I learned today in Writing class.

--------------------------------------------

Befor i start , I will give girls a caution about a bething suits.

I recommend wearing a competitive bathing suits not a bikini because the impact when you get into the water is much harder than you think.

it s said that it's a ton of the impact if you jump from 10m platform so the impact can take your bikini off...

In fact, my bathing suit is always turned over every single time no matter how tight it is.haha (but just a little!)

Anyway, Im going to tell you about my favorite dive, front 2 and a half somersaults.

First, concentrate and remember what coach says to you last time.

and then, start approching.(walking on the board=hurdle)

While you are approching, keep your balance by holding your tummy tight.

When you reach the edge of the board, listen the sounds of the bouncing board in order to land to the board perfectly.

Just before you land to the board, swing arms and set in the proper position, which is the side of your ears.

When you set your arms, don't drop your head down.

Next, swing arms down stright as you are taking off.

As soon as you take off, take a pike position.

Feel the speed of your somersault on the air while you are spinning.

And then, make sure you watch the surface of the water so that you can check if you are short or over.

Remember, don't open your pike too early unless you feel you are spinning very fast.

Finally, come out your pike position before you set your arms for entry.

it is important to make your entry clean and keep body straight.

Keep your elbows straight when your hands hit the water.

Point toes and keep stamach tight until your body is all in the water.

After that, listen cearfully to advices of your coach and keep it in your mind for next dive!

And repeat the same steps again and again and again.........until your coach says you are done!

-------------------------------

How did it sound?

Does it sound boring or interesting?

One dive takes only 3 seconds so every motions seems to happen at the same time; however, there are steps in each movement, for example, hurdle, take off, come out, enrty etc.etc..

I can never dive the same dive.

Every dive is different even if it looks the same.

That s why diving is so interesting.

That s why I love diving.

Olympic

The view from my eyes on 3m
i didn't do anything this week but diving.
i was going to study but...you know.. it s a break.
there was no way i can study! haha
The Diving World Cup started this week in China, Beijing, which was the most important event this year for most divers to qualify for Olympic games.
I couldn't wait to see the result every morning and evening because my Japanese, Canadian and Colombian teammates were competeing for almost all events.
one of my Japanese teammates, Ken Terauchi had already qualified for Olympic games before this World Cup so it was an event to appeal himself to judges.
However, another my teammate hadn't qualified yet, which means this is the last chance to qualify to Olympic.
She got 9th in preliminary but couldn't go to the Final... she couldn't make it..
I couldn't believe it because I know how tough she was.
She has trained very hard, probably harder than anyone else in the team, and her dream was always going to an Olympic.
I'm so sad just by thinking about how she feels..
On the other hand, my Colomian teammate..well...I think i should explain about them before the results.
They are from Colombia, one coach and 3 divers.
They are really really really good viders and we became a very good friends as teammates while they were training in Calgary.
it is because..like..as divers but also..you know..like,,from outside of Canada...?
Anyway,
If they qualify to Olympic games, they might come back to Calgary to train with us again, so all member in Dive Calgary hoped them to dive well in this World Cup.
And,,, they did.
all member made Olympic games!
isnt it great?!
i cant say 100% happy because one of my teammate couldnt make it but,,
i was happy this week.
and Im going back to school tomorrow..
im not happy..haha
im afraind of "MY" result..of course, it s mid tearm.
im not sure if i can qualify for EAP3..
it is much lower level when it s compared to Olympic games but,
still, making EAP3 seems to be so hard for me like an Olympic..haha
6 more weeks!!!
I cant wait to go back to home in Japan after this semester!!!
i think i can do anything for it!

Victoria

this competition was something special to me although that was much much smaller than last time which was international competition in Montreal because i went back to school from Jan and i didnt have enough time to practice.

Moreover, I had shinsplints so i didnt do regular work out as what i was doing before.

it was the first time in my whole diving life to think "i dont wanna compete.."

i was so stressed out before i went to this competition. i was going to die..i mean...seriously.

I was away from diving on 3m because my arm hurt too.

when i started 3m again, i couldnt fell the same way as before. i felt like i lost in the air when i was spinning.

when it happaned, i recalled what my English teacher told me " if you dont use it, you loose it."

it was about English, but i felt that "I lost it" of course, it is diving skill.

since then, everything was killing me. everything. i d never thought in that way.

what i like, what i dont like, what im good at, what im bad at...EVERYTHING.

I normaly love training but i was affraid of practice becasue i didnt want to feel that my diving skill was getting worse..

I was very afraid..

Now, competition s over...

What i learned from the competition is that i can do anything by thinking in positive way.

every fall dive is not because of my shin or luck of work out.

it is sometimes because of my way of thinking.

there are a lot of things that can be changed by thinking in positive.

i ve never be satisfied with my diving.

I always thinking that im bad, be better or something like that.

of course, it is important to think in that way because it s kind of motivation.

However, i realized (actually my friend told me)that it sometimes makes you suffer from thinking too much.

That s right.

what i need to do is to thank my family, coaches, friends, teachers and teammates, who are supporting me to stay healthy and continue diving in Calgary.

Thank you so much for haveing me as a happy diver, everyone.

I attached pictures of pool I competed and 3 little lovely divers in my team.

I hate a teacher to clap her hands thythmically bacause i feel im treated like a kid,

I hate it when I dont have a loony to buy a cookie

I hate it there s no cookie when i have a loony.

I hate that I cant make a train and just whatching the train going away,

I hate being late for practice,

I hate it when warm-up, usually biking, is not enough to warm up my body because it s too cold outside,

I hate my dive to fall,

I hate my coach when he miss my dive and it usually happens when i dive well,

I hate a moment when i finish practice, I dont know why,

I hate a bus coming behind a bus i take,

I hate a bog barking again and again in my home,

I hate my laptop computer when it doesnt work,

I hate that I miss keeping diary,

I hate to weight myself on a scale, but i have to,

I hate to be woke up by something such as phone call,

I hate to have a dream about a daily life because i feel it ll be true,

And I hate to think about tomorrow....

to find a good thing in life is hard...

However,,,

Hi, all in EAP2 =)

is anybody reading my blog?

if you are reading this right now, make sure you make a comment,ok ;) ?

****************************************

Im going to write a lil bit about me because some of classmates are not from last semester(EAP1) so I d like them to know about me=)

Im Satomi from Japan, Kobe. im 20 (i know i look younger than i am..haha)

and I am a DIVER!

Im practicing diving 6 times a week. before school and after school=)

Diving is an amazing sports, I think.

I believe every Chinese student know about diving. I had two Chinese coach in Japan.

they were great coaches, super strict though...;(

I like Chinese dive style because it s powerful and beautiful.

Beauty is the most important part of diving..that what my coach (in Japan) said and I think so too.

so Im trying to be a beautiful diver, not a diver who just dive difficult dive without beauties!

I wanna be a diving coach like my coach in Calgary(not Chinese coach!haha).

he is the best coach ever.

he was studying Kinesiology and Education at U of C.

if I become a diving coach, I want many people or kids to know how interesting diving is!

if u wanna dive, come to the Talisman Center! It located close to Erlton Stampede station.

And if u got interested in learning diving, join our team! haha =)

I wanna post the picture of my lovely diving pool but I dont know how to do it..!
